About Us

Get to know more about what makes us different.

Bethel United Methodist Church is a welcoming community of faith in Shannon, Illinois. We are people of different ages, backgrounds, experiences, and gifts, brought together by God’s grace and our desire to follow Jesus Christ.
Our mission is simple: Love Christ, Grow Faith, and Share Hope.
We seek to love Christ through worship and prayer, grow in faith through Scripture and fellowship, and share God’s hope by serving our neighbors and community. We believe every person is loved by God and called to use their unique gifts to make a difference.

At Bethel, we are building a beloved community where everyone is welcomed, accepted, honored, and invited to serve. We do not claim to have everything figured out. We are growing together as we learn what it means to live with compassion, grace, justice, and love.
Whether you have been part of the church all your life, are returning after time away, or are exploring faith for the first time, there is a place for you at Bethel.
Come as you are. Grow with us. Serve with us. Together, let us share the love and hope of Jesus Christ.

Meet the team.
